Hello there...
My name's Rose-Zita Fernandez, and I started practising yoga 7 years ago. Yoga came to me at a time when I most needed it. I was feeling depressed, unenthusiastic and overweight. I found yoga was the only way I could truly quiet my mind and feel positive about myself and what the future had in store for me. I began the way most people do - reaching rock bottom and searching for anything that could help. Plus, I have a genuine curiosity and a kind friend who pushed me to get involved. After practising whenever I could, I started to learn more about my mind and body capabilities.
Before practising yoga, I was suffering greatly from knee pain, which scared me. I thought I would have to stop hiking and other physical activities I enjoyed. But this wasn't the case. By learning a series of Asanas, I gained strength and balance, building the muscles necessary for my legs to work correctly and without pain. Yoga showed me that you can achieve so much with whole-body and mind practice and that severe problems can be avoided and resolved consistently.
Today, I have a lot to be grateful for, and yoga was the catalyst for me to realise that. I hope to be able to share my knowledge and experience with others and help them understand and nurture themselves.

I have completed a 500-hour teacher training course that covers a variety of yoga styles, breathing techniques, meditations, and Ayurvedic living practices. I wish to incorporate all these teachings into my classes so that we can reconnect with ourselves, practise yoga with purpose, and, in turn, live our lives with purpose, too.
